CertIdol Contest by Transcender

We’ve kicked off the Transcender Cert Idol video contest with a bang. All of the rules for submission are covered here and here, but I thought we’d reiterate a few key points.

Q. When do I submit? When do I know if I’ve won?

A. As a reminder, the contest timeline is:

  • September 23 – Contest begins (Submission Period)
  • October 15 – Last day for video submissions
  • October 16 – Voting period begins
  • November 6 – Voting period ends
  • November 12 – Winners announced

Q. Who’s eligible to enter? Do I have to be in the U.S.?

A. The contest is only open to legal residents of the 50 United States (excluding territories and possessions) and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age at the time of entry. (However, people under 18 can be in a video submission with a parent/guardian’s signed consent.)

Q. What exactly are you looking for in a video?

A. An original video explaining why you are the “Cert Idol.” The video should address AT LEAST ONE the following questions: (1) What are your experiences with Transcender training products? (2) Why do you recommend Transcender training products? (3) How do Transcender training products compare to other available products?

Videos must be in English and run at least thirty (30) seconds, but no longer than two (2) minutes and thirty (30) seconds.

Q. What if several people are in the video? Who is considered “the contestant”?

A. The contestant is the person who fills out the application form and submits the video. If more than one person is in the video, only the person submitting the video is considered the winner. (If you win the grand prize bundle, you might want to let them use your Playstation 3 occasionally. Just saying…)

The contestant should get clearance in writing from anyone else who is shown in the video, and be able to provide on request all appropriate clearances, permissions and releases. Any minors depicted must have releases from their parent(s) or guardian(s).

Q. Will anything disqualify my video?

A. Yes. Don’t violate copyright, infringe on others’ intellectual property, or use brand names, trademarks, or logos for any product OTHER than Transcender.  Parody is acceptable, but not outright reproduction. Your video must be your original submission.

Needless to say, videos that contain hate speech, obscenity, pornography, nudity, or use of violence are disqualified.

Attempts to tamper with the electronic voting processes of the Web site will disqualify you from the contest.
